Blissful Bora Bora is a paradise on earth

‘Heaven on earth’ is a description often used when referring to Bora Bora Tahiti – and the Conrad Hilton Bora Bora Nui is a reason why!

Arriving by water taxi to the stunning Conrad Hilton Bora Bora Nui you are welcomed by the beautiful staff who make you feel like you are the most important guest they have ever received.  This magical paradise is just as you have always imagined, if not better!  Situated on the island of Motu To’opua with its world famous lagoon the resort offers uninterrupted views of the horizon, fabulous snorkelling and sand so white you would think it was snow.

As we walked out across the pathway to our overwater bungalow, I was excited to see inside. Even though I felt I knew the intimate detail of the rooms (having pored over the resort pictures many.. and I mean many times with excitement before leaving!) my first impressions were exceeded and that feeling of “WOW I’ve arrived” was realised.  This is why, this destination is a breath-takingly, bucket list paradise.

The resort offers garden suites (good for families) to overwater bungalows – some with their own over water pool, to the ultimate Presidential Overwater Villa Suite (you might recognise this villa if you have ever watched the Kardashians).

My husband and I chose the overwater bungalow which is well worth the upgrade from the land villas – this is one piece of advice I would be recommending on taking!  This is after all a bucket list destination, so to experience the beauty of the uninterrupted views, watching the beauty of the sunset (or sunrise for your early-birds), while sipping champagne (you can do this in the morning too!) from the privacy of your deck is without a doubt a ‘once in a lifetime experience’.

Inside, the fully retractable windows open out to your spacious terrace so you can even relax on your king size bed, while soaking in the views.  Floating on the decks overwater hammocks you can keep a watchful eye on the water below. Keeping your snorkel gear at the ready, the advantage an overwater villa gives you, is the instant possibility to dive off your deck the moment you spot any marine life of interest.

With six restaurants the Conrad Bora Bora Nui offers a variety of options from casual to fine dining experiences. The Iriatai French restaurant offered classic French cuisine perfectly matched with an exceptional wine list – my favourite dish was the truffle risotto – just the right amount of everyhing – Magnifique!

Relaxed dining offered at the Tamure Beach Grill was a selection of authentic Mediterranean and Polynesian dishes, perfectly prepared in the open air kitchen – from salads to sashimi, pizza to steak the dining options were endless and we were never bored for choice.

My favourite taste was the Pina Colada’s served at the swim up pool bar. (Very clichéd, but there is something about the smell of pineapple combined with coconut that just screams ‘drink me’ while on a tropical holiday)

You don’t have to travel far to enjoy the highlights that Bora Bora has to offer – it’s right on the edge of your bungalow. If the marine life is what you have come for, you will not be disappointed. Schools of diverse and colourful fish swim around you, sting rays effortless glide by and to watch the movement of an octopus in the peaceful silence of underwater is ‘Magic’!

All the water activities you could wish for are included and should you fancy getting more active, try out the well equipped fitness centre, tennis court, beach volley or even the 18 hole mini golf.

A short hike up volcanic rock to the top of the hill and you have arrived at the resorts crowning glory.   Surrounded by lush vegetation with breath-taking views across the lagoon is the blissfully scented haven, the ‘Hina Spa’. The treatments are equally as spectacular, with all natural products the serenity of the surroundings and smell of the tiare monoi oil are sure to awaken the senses and deliver a sense of fulfilment.  It’s true there is a ‘Heaven on Earth’.

Jet-Skiing in Bora Bora is Bliss

Don’t Leave Without

The best way to experience the beauty of Bora Bora is to take to the water and zip around the island on a Jet-Ski. The joys of spinning your own wake across the turquoise lagoon as you take in the views of Mt Otemanu is an experience to treasure.
